Sirius A is the brightest star in the night sky when viewed from Earth. It is part of a binary star system. The giant star keeps the smaller sister star in a tight gravitation pull that will cause the two to dance around each other. Sirius is said to be 20 times brighter than our sun and is 10,000 times brighter than it's own sister star.
